Notice of Rescheduled Public Hearing

 NOTICE OF RESCHEDULED HEARING TO IMPOSE AND PROVIDE FOR COLLECTION

                                  OF FIRE PROTECTION SPECIAL ASSESSMENTS

 

            NOTICE IS GIVEN that the Board of County Commissioners of Madison County, Florida (the “Board”) will conduct a public hearing to consider imposing fire protection special assessments against certain properties within the Madison County Fire Protection Municipal Service Benefit Unit (the “Benefit Unit”) to fund the cost of fire protection services, facilities and programs provided to such properties and to authorize collection of such assessments on the tax bill.  The Benefit Unit is comprised of the service areas of the unincorporated area of Madison County and the incorporated area of the Town of Greenville and the Town of Lee.

 

            The public hearing shall be held as follows:

 

                                    DATE:             September 26, 2017

 

                                    TIME:             6:00 p.m.

 

                                    PLACE:          The Madison County Courthouse

                                    125 SW Range Avenue

                                    Madison, Florida 32340

 

            The above public hearing was previously set for September 12, 2017, but was rescheduled to the date and time set out above due to the emergency conditions created by Hurricane Irma.  Notice has been previously given by mail and publication for the September 12, 2017 public hearing.  Except for the changed date and time as set out herein, all notices previously given remain in full force and effect.

 

            If a person decides to appeal any decision made by the Board with respect to any matter considered at the hearing, such person will need a record of the proceedings and may need to ensure that a verbatim record is made, including the testimony and evidence upon which the appeal is to be made.  In accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act, persons needing a special accommodation or an interpreter to participate in this proceeding should contact the Clerk of Court’s office at (850) 973-1500, at least 48 hours prior to the date of the hearing.
